InfraLUM® FT-10

InfraLUM FT-10 is a multipurpose near-IR FT spectrometer designed for laboratory analysis of various samples, such food products as wheat, barley, rye, oats, wheat and rye flour, corn, soy beans and flour, soy oil meal, sunflower oil meal and cake, meat-and-bone meal tankage, fish flour, mixed fodder, feed yeast, dry milk, milk, curds, yogurts, cheese, minced meat, etc.

Most of the samples are analyzed without sample preparation. Preliminary grinding is necessary for some solid non-granular samples (e.g. soy and sunflower oil meal) or samples in highly absorbing coat (e.g. sunflower seeds).  InfraLUM FT-10 is designed in such a way to simplify sample preparation and increase accuracy of the analysis as much as possible.

Measurement procedure

Place the cell with a sample into the autosampler, select measurement procedure from the menu using a PC, and run the measurement. The measurements and displaying the results on the monitor screen are performed automatically by SpectraLUM/Pro® software. It takes 2-3 minutes to analyze a sample.  It’s possible to print results or save them in a database.

principle of operation

Principle of operation is based on analysis of the composition and properties of a sample using its near- IR Fourier absorbance spectrum. InfraLUM FT-10 register spectrum on some hundreds of wavelengths. It increases accuracy of the analysis due to large amounts and high accuracy of processing information.

features and benefits

  • Simultaneous fast non-destructive determination of multiple parameters of interest in several minutes;
  • High accuracy of analysis;
  • Easy to operate;
  • No reagents and consumables are needed, no sample preparation for most of the samples;
  • Turnkey application calibration models are provided.

Software features

SpectraLUM/Pro® software allows a user to change available and develop new calibrations. Commonly used and accepted multivariate techniques such as PLS (Partial Least Squares) and PCR (Principal Component Regression) are used for development of calibrations.

areas of application

  • Corn storage: express analysis of grade and quality of grain and flour;
  • Poultry and farm production: control of composition and quality of feeds and raw material;
  • Food industry: quality control of raw materials, products and waste materials, control of technological processes;
  • Veterinary control: control of composition and quality of feeds;
  • Sanitary control: control of composition, identification and authentication of the products;
  • Chemical and petrochemical industry identification and authentication of raw materials and products;
  • Pharmaceutical industry: express identification of medicine preparations;
  • Scientific research.
