InfraLUM® WholeGrain Near-IR FT Spectrometer |
InfraLUM WholeGrain Analyzer is a near-IR FT spectrometer designed for laboratory analysis of basic properties/constituents of grain, such as protein, fats, moisture, sugar, cellulose, starch, fibres, etc.
The instrument employs the NIR-transmission technique, accommodates most of chemometrics prediction algorithms, and allows for high flexibility of analysis methods.
The analyzer provides very simple user interface via dedicated SpectraLUM/Pro® software and touchscreen, which enables to carry out routine analyses in a dialogue mode, so that an operator can operate the instrument without any special training.
The most precise FT spectrometry together with potion wise sampling ensures most accurate results that can be obtained by NIR spectrometry. | principle of operation
| | Principle of operation is based on analysis of the composition and properties of a sample using its near- IR Fourier absorbance spectrum. InfraLUM WholeGrain registers spectrum on some hundreds of wavelengths. It increases accuracy of the analysis due to large amounts and high accuracy of processing information. | measurement procedure | | |
| Place the cell with a sample into the funnel of the autosampler, select measurement procedure from the menu on the touchscreen and run the measurement. All the further actions are performed automatically by SpectraLUM /Pro software. It takes 60 seconds to analyze a sample. Results of analysiosare disaplyed on the screen and automatically stored in the measurement database. It is possible to print a report based on the results of one or several measurements. | features and benefits | | |
| | Near Infrared Transmittance | Worldwide accepted and approved technology | | No sample preparation | Saves time, no grinding | | Portion wise sampling | Subsamples improve repeatability and accuracy | | Software controlled variable pathlength cell | No exchange of cells, one cell for all types of grain from rapeseed, wheat to corn | | LCD - touchscreen with on - screen keyboard | No external keyboard and mouse required | Multi-language Windows based SpectraLUM/Pro - software | Simplifies system operation | | Easy transfer of calibration and data | Cost savings, calibrations have to be developed only once and updated yearly. | | Network capability | Ensures reliability and confidence in grain trading, as all systems show the same results independent of location and/or operator | | Simplicity of operation | Easy to use, no specific operator skills needed | | Robust system | Designed for rough environment, the system can be operated in a warehouse, no lab needed |
InfraLUM Whole Grain Analyzer is supplied with ready-to-use basic calibrations for most of the grain applications. Upon customer's request, the calibrations can be adapted for specific sets of samples, or new calibrations can be made. A new technique for creating universal calibrations has been developed for the instrument. This state-of-the-art technique does not require large amounts of samples to make robust, reliable, and transferable calibrations. In addition, commonly used and accepted multivariate techniques such as PLS (Partial Least Squares) and PCR (Principal Component Regression) are included in the software package. Our service / application engineers carry out its installation and commissioning and demonstrate the operation of the instrument using the calibration samples. They also provide training for the customers in routine measurements.
Software features
SpectraLUM/Pro® software allows a user to change available and develop new calibrations. Commonly used and accepted multivariate techniques such as PLS (Partial Least Squares) and PCR (Principal Component Regression) are used for development of calibrations. | areas of application
